Mona Jhaveri, Ph.D.,
Founder & Chief Executive Officer

Dr. Mona S. Jhaveri completed her Doctorate in Biochemistry from the Bowman Gray School of Medicine of Wake Forest University. She trained as a post-doctoral fellow at the National Cancer Institute where she discovered FOLIGO’s lead therapeutic compound, FOLIGO 001. Dr. Jhaveri was granted the SPORE Fellowship Award for Breast Cancer Research at the Lombardi Cancer Center of Georgetown University, where she continued to develop FOLIGO 001 as a potential treatment for cancer. Dr. Jhaveri subsequently specialized in intellectual property and technology transfer while at the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research.  Dr. Jhaveri then founded FOLIGO in 2005 to develop and commercialize FOLIGO 001.

As CEO of FOLIGO, Dr. Jhaveri 1) successfully led the Company’s development from concept to pre-clinical testing of its therapeutic and diagnostic tools; 2) established academic and corporate partnerships, respectively, with the University of Maryland and Isis Pharmaceuticals, to assist in the accomplishment of key R&D milestones; and 3) established support channels through local government and private organizations including Arbonne International, a developer of botanical and herbal based skincare, health and wellness products.

Richard Miles, CPA,
Financial Advisor

Mr. Miles is a CPA with 40 years of financial management experience in all aspect of accounting. He worked in Corporate Headquarters for CBS as a financial analyst, for Ernst and Young as an auditor, for Marriott and Eurotherm International, starting as a cost accountant and advancing to VP Finance and CFO of a major industrial controls subsidiary. For the last 15 years he has provided CFO services on a contract basis for numerous entities in a variety of industries, domestic and international. He was CFO  Sterling Semiconductor and Intrinsic Semiconductor from start-up to acquisition by a publicly held companies in deals worth in excess of $100M . He holds a BS degree in Accounting from Fordham University and did his graduate work in Managerial Accounting at George Washington University. He and his CPA firm are licensed in Virginia.

Yoko Shoji, Ph.D,
Scientific Director

Dr. Yoko Shoji Moskowitz holds doctorates from Hoshi University (Ph.D.) and from St. Marianna University (M.D.) in Japan. She was an associate professor at St. Marianna University School of Medicine, where she was assigned to develop a lipid microsphere, a novel drug carrier for anti-inflammatory drugs. Since 1988, lipid microspheres have been marketed nationally and internationally as a primary drug delivery system for prostaglandin E1 for the treatment of anti-inflammatory diseases. Dr. Shoji Moskowitz’s is a pioneer in the development of drug delivery systems for DNA-based medicines. She worked on the development of immunomodulators, the IgE rheumatoid factor, and drug delivery systems for DNA-based medicines. Dr. Shoji Moskowitz trained as a postdoctoral fellow in the renowned laboratory of Dr. Rudolph Juliano at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and in the laboratory of Dr. Vincent H Lee at the University of Southern California. Dr. Shoji Moskowitz has an extensive record of medical and scientific publications in the field of drug delivery for DNA-based medicines.
